Sounds Giving Life 07 – Sunday July 29th – Musgrave Park 10am-10pm

Set to rock the aid “industry” at an all day music event on July 29, a new phenomenon in humanitarian aid will explode into life with the launch of Brisbane based, volunteer run charity 'Aliamos' at Musgrave Park.

Sounds Giving Life 07 is a charity launch event with a difference. A liveaid event to be held in Brisbane's Musgrave Park, SGL07 has enlisted the support of artists from around the country- all donating their time to perform for the crowds and inspire people into action.

Over 25 acts will take to the stage at Musgrave Park on July 29, with an amazing lineup including Tyrone Noonan, Diana Anaid (Syd), Rastawookie (Syd), Free Agent Crew (Syd), Yeshe and the World Citizens, Jess Harlen (Melb), Grassroots Street Orchestra, Black Market Rhythm Co., Kooii, Spankinhide, Halfkast and the Cure for Everything, The Rooftops, Laique, Timbah, The Cool Calm Collective, Jeremiah and the Charles Darwin Band, Lecia Bell, Chocolate Strings, Leigh Chantelle, The Telltale Hearts, Georgia Potter, 1:1:1 and many more, as well as African dance and drum workshops, firetwirling, Hare Krishna performances, breakdancing, kids entertainment, markets, food, a chai tent with an open mic space for punters to share their talents and most importantly- information on up to 100 grassroots aid projects from around the world .

Fantastic performers will unite the crowds in a fun celebration of all that it is to be human. Sounds giving life.”

The event runs from 10am-10pm with $10 entry. Admission includes membership to Aliamos

Who is Aliamos?

Aliamos is a non profit organisation which will break away from the global aid 'industry' by researching and exhibiting independent grassroots community projects from around the world . It will showcase these projects as a way of allowing people from all areas to support and foster them.

Whilst there are many people who want to share their compassion, many political and bureaucratic barriers have developed, leaving people disenchanted and unempowered. In some cases, people see up to 80% of their donations spent on administration, or have to pay thousands of dollars to agents to volunteer.

Aliamos has been created to cut out the expansive middle man that is the 'aid industry', by providing a simple yet effective method of communicating projects that are taking place. This internet database will allow people to view projects, explore their goals and budget requirements, and make a tax-deductible donation directly to the project, with no commission taken by ALIAMOS. Travellers will be able to view projects and find contact details in order to arrange their own volunteer work, and the people in need will subsequently receive the greatest possible support.

The charity is being formed and has projects in Bolivia and Uganda with others in Central and South America, Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe being approved.
